Inspirada is one of Henderson's newer master-planned communities, in the southwest part of the city in the 89044 ZIP. Most homes went up from the 2010s onward, and building is still going on in places. Newer construction avoids some of the aging-pipe issues older neighborhoods face, but it has its own water risks.
Water issues in newer Inspirada homes
- PEX fitting and connection failures. Modern PEX plumbing resists corrosion, but crimp and push-fit connections can fail, especially in the first years or after a fixture is replaced.
- Appliance connections. Refrigerator ice-maker lines, washer hoses and dishwasher connections installed at move-in are a frequent source of leaks.
- Tankless water heaters and water softeners. Many newer homes have these. A failed fitting or softener discharge line can leak into a garage or closet.
- Landscaping and grading after move-in. New patios, turf and planters can change how water drains around the slab during a monsoon storm.
If your home is still under the builder's warranty, contact the builder about the cause of the leak. That doesn't stop you from getting water out and drying started right away, which protects you and is usually expected by insurers.
